Nice and wide with l0ts of slippery rocks-good current and fairly deep. Great for a bike..&*#^$%!!
River crossings galore!! About 10 in all with the last one being the deepest. Even the quads were floating down river on this one.
Andy and Debbie's chariot-a Yamaha Rhino 660.
My borrowed unit.
Excellent camp set-up. I slept in the enclosed trailer. It was perfect.
Don't ask me why Andy is doing up his pants whilst standing on my bed??? It certainly does not look good!! hahahha
Let's get riding!!
Sweat Lodges??
Stuck!! And these Rhino's don't like to back up in the mud-not enough juice. Very lame indeed in that regard.
Even going forward wasn't working all too great.
The mighty beast....and the bike. Nice glasses huh?
Where are you off to Debbie?? Must be going to check out the plaque about two guys that died trying to cross the river in an Argo back in 1984? Very tragic for sure.
This was really neat. Everything was black.
You can see the new growth starting already.
Deb is driving, I think Andy is nervous!!!
No Problem!!
Ahh roots and muskeg. Great fun on the bike.
Quaders are soo slow!!!
Everyone is admiring the new Polaris Razor.
Although it was quite impressive, this hole proved to be a little too deep.
Getting the Rhino through all the trails proved to be quite difficult. Had to cut a few trees down to get the clearance.
Yet another tree to be cut. Andy actually ran out of gas on this one so he ended up just using that notch that he had made in the root and the side of the tree. It was just enough.
Hole in the sidewall.
Tire plug repair.
A broken bead this time.
Cardinal River Divide on the way home.
Cardinal River Divide-different view.
Fort Assiniboine Park near the Athabasca River- just before the ferry crossing. Nice area for quading. Looks like lots of trails and sand. Too much sand for the mighty GS. I tipped it over here-you can see the front tire plowing. The side case kept it on about a 45 degree angle, so it was easy to pick back up.
This ferry has been in operation since around 1934.
Looks like a relaxing job. I mentioned my thoughts to this guy and he said actually this job can be very stressful-with the heat and the weekend quader rush. Imagine that!!??
